A Black Rose Poem by Sara Hol

A Black Rose

Rating: 4.5

A Black Rose is a symbol for death,
killing each petal of a babies breath.
Expressing the murder of one-another
sister to sister; brother to brother,
Tears are shed, as the rose is seen
watching and waiting
everyone waits suspicious and keen.
The atmosphere solemn,
the sky growing charcoal black.

The prick of each and every thorn,
expresses a relationship the person and life had torn.
Empty and hollow, spirits walk the distance
because a black rose only symbolizes one circumstance.
Each blackened petal wilts away
because loved ones said goodbye and prevailed to stay.

God took them upon his grace
tears staining the loved ones cheeks.
The solemn expression they have is engraved
upon their heavy and misfortunate hearts.
The blackened petals fall, one by one
as the loved ones body becomes one
with the ground.
