A Call For More Time Poem by Dashaun Rashod Snipes

A Call For More Time

Rating: 5.0

Lazarus, oh Lazarus, trapped in death's embrace
A call for more time, a plea to grant you grace
Your body still, your breath has gone
But your spirit lingers, struggling to hold on
In the tomb, your form lays cold
But your story, forever to be told
For on this day, a miracle takes place
As Jesus calls out, with a voice of grace
'Come forth, Lazarus, ' His words resound
And suddenly, life in you is found
Your once lifeless limbs, begin to stir
As the grave clothes fall, you emerge from the blur
The crowd stands in awe, as you walk out
Once bound by death, now free to shout
Your eyes gazing upon the face of He
Who with a simple call, has set you free
A call for more time, was all it took
For death to release its unyielding hook
Lazarus, oh Lazarus, now alive and well
A testament to the power of a Savior who fell
Your story, a reminder of hope
That even in death, we can still cope
For with a call from our Father above
We can rise again, on wings of love
So let us not fear, the grasp of death
But with faith, cling to every breath
For a call for more time, can still be heard
And in His time, we'll rise as He promised in His word.
