A Chained Dog's Plea Poem by Candi Lynn

A Chained Dog's Plea

You wanted me to be a part of your family and you.
Now can you please tell me what did I do?
You banished me from the house, stuck me on a chain.
I am out here, heat, snow, wind and rain.
Do you know that I get lonely and yearn for your touch?
Do you know just how I miss you so very much?
All I get to do, is walk around and pace.
I thought I was suppose to be part of your race.
But here I am day after day, year after year.
But do you know that I still hold you dear?
So won't you please reconsider and bring me inside.
I promise to be a good dog and just be by your side.

Who could ignore such a plaintive plea? Sincerely, Jerry
