A Closed Cap Poem by Lehlohonolo Selai

A Closed Cap

You seem dumb to my eyes
An unpeeled layer of truths within
A lie to my presence to save your life
You lock tight the pain of your being

A closed cap you are
Containing collisions too deep
A chemical explosion that should touch air
For that is the taste of freedom you seek.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Wrote this poem to tell a colleague of mine that she needs to talk. She had to understand that keeping it locked in is dangerous.
