A Common Delusion Poem by Dr. Madan Gandhi

A Common Delusion

A common delusion:
we can get true felicity
by worldly acquisions
fulfillment of ambitions

Alas! little do we realize
riches and renown
scepter and crown
don’t make us wise

Only in a calm peaceful spirit
the true happiness abides
despondency and dejection
where discontent presides

Blessed the quiet tranquil mind
who finds lotuses blossom in his/her heart
who is brimming with love for humankind
who lives the purest and noblest thoughts.
