Michael P. Johnson (7th Nov.1943 / New Silksworth / Sunderland Co/Durham England)
A CRY TO GOD
To You my God I cry out loud
For those yet bound in sin
I pray they leave the Godless crowd
That Christ may dwell within
I cry my God because I'm free!
I've peace and joy inside
Yet still there's more out there like me
For whom Christ Jesus died
In truth! I kneel before Your throne
In Christ I've come this far
I thank my God I'm not alone
But still there's some who are
How can I leave them there to rot?
How can I see them fall?
How can I sit with all I've got?
While still through Christ, You call
There's much in Christ I've yet to give
So much of Yours to share
Your wondrous love, the will to live
The knowledge that You care
It's not a thing I planned to do
But through the love You gave
I'd like to tell the world of You
And save her from the grave
If You can keep but one; from hell
Through that in me You do
Then woe is me, if I don't tell
The truth I know of You
For this is why The Saviour came
For sinners such as I
So now it's in Christ Jesus' name
To You my God I cry.
