A Denied Youth Poem by Michael Roysdon

A Denied Youth

So, the child act and seek,
A new hope on the fringes of a dead city,
Spanning the previously denied influence,
Over the masses that were denied them so.
Oh, how the far eyes seeks a deeper void,
One more subtle and also more loving,
To encumber their ambitions,
That had so long been eclipsed by the abrasions,
Etched into the skin of a now free youth,
That was once left to lead a pre-fashioned future.
Antiques left as bonds of an older age,
As the bones of those forcing those bonds,
Were hung into the catacombs of the city now crumbling,
Being laughed at and spirited away by an eccentric revolution.
So, the children seek a new day, a new time, a fashion,
To call their down, to make their designs known,
And to relax in the day that they revolted.
