A Dream Poem by Taylor Seaton

A Dream

In softer sleep,
We were lovers once.

We entangled
In a bed that never was
Under the warm glow of
Subtle lights
That never were.

I had never loved you more.
I swear, I loved you
I loved you more than God could have ever intended
I loved you more than I intended
And for once,
I felt...
Alive
Something more than alright...
Just once...

The day has found itself an antithesis
To my slumbers.
Salts parched throats in summer's heat

The day has found itself an antithesis

I love this, the ending especially. It's the perfect echo of something finished.
