A Fight To Lose Poem by Petra Soliman

A Fight To Lose

Divine melody to my ears,
The day I heard heartbeat from within,
Heavenly Father,
I offer my soul to take,
I have fallen short of strength and hope for the future.

Living with this burden,
So heavy it drowns me every day,
Into the depths of sorrow and despair,
Suffocation tears me apart,
And I cannot save myself.

I prayed my soul to take,
On the day the voiceless were taken away,
Why am I still alive?
What am I living for?
The memories that still haunt me,
No matter how I try,
It feels like I wake up to my funeral every morning,
And I fall asleep to my death.

Why Should I fight,
If I have already lost this battle?
