A Free Man Poem by Tony Adah

A Free Man

Rating: 3.5

Akpalo is still breathing
But he's dead
He's dead and still living
In the midst of the world
They said his manhood travelled
Without him
And he's a professional bachelor
At such great years
He has no one to keep him company
And he's dead
Dead dead Akpalo is dead
He has all life's problems off his head
But those who do not know
Think that Akpalo is dead
He laments on the problems of the world
On those who are neck deep in them
He is a free man
Only man doesn't understand.
