A Friend We Do Not Know Poem by David Harris

A Friend We Do Not Know

There are no strangers in life
only friends we do not know.
Our first meetings are
like the early morning dew
that awakens the flowers
that spread colours
through our lives.

We walk each day
with strangers we do not know
who could bring with them
a friendship unbound
when they enter
into our lives.

The next time
you see a stranger smile
as that stranger could
in the not too distant future
bring a long and lasting
friendship into your life.
