A Frightful Return Poem by Matthew Holloway

A Frightful Return

Rating: 3.5

I've been away
Locked in isolation
Suffering and weeping
Pushing away thoughts
Thoughts of dying
Thoughts of being alone
Thoughts of guilt
Thoughts of self loathing
All unkind thoughts
Now I know one thing
I need to come back
Return to a routine
Work and the daily grind
returning to that
Everything I hid away
I must now face
I must be brave
