A Heart Warning Story In True From Me To You... Poem by Frank James Ryan Jr...fjr

A Heart Warning Story In True From Me To You...

Rating: 5.0

Read, digest... This is not a poem,
but a heads-up on the importance of
taking care of your Heart & penned
in prose format for literary value.

There first is a miniscule twitch
in between your mid-chest and diaphragm,
a fluttering onset as the twitch soon subsides,
and wherever you are, whatever you're doing
the sensation will be brought to your attention again.
You might wonder, 'What is that'', and shrug it off,
yet chances are, if you do, this overpass will not-
be honored, and cessate from it's inevitable course'
Arrhythmia, in particular, Tachycardia is crisis
of the Heart, that can only be safely abrogated
by they who specialize in its mercurialities.

[No one is exempt from this cardio event, not Me, not You,
and I write this with great experience, and many thanks,
that I am here and writing this story after almost 20 years].

And tho' this happened a score of years past, the event,
the memories of that night are still ripely fresh
in the front, back, and crux of my hemispheres and heart,
to remind me each year to have an Echo-Cardiogram
of the valves and pressures of the most precious organ,
that is the only human organ that is also a muscle,
and one that communicates directly with and to the Human
Brain by electric conduction.
When it comes to the human cardio-respiratory system:
we have two lungs, two nostrils, two sources to breathe from,
but only one Heart to enable this process of to function.
I was lucky, you may be too, but be honest with yourself;
Do you really want to place your chips down, atop your Heart?
