A Heart's Desire Poem by Dee Gey

A Heart's Desire

Through this maze I walk,
Seeking comfort among shadows;
To drown my sorrows,
Amid the chaos.

In this moment of despair,
I'm whispering a prayer;
For courage and faith be my guide,
While I travel this narrow path.

I implore for silence and peace,
And let my spirit gently heal.
So that I will not wander lost,
nor I will be confused.

Barriers may try to hinder,
Uncertainties may cloud my sight;
These doubts that I have worn,
I leave them all behind.

Even if my heart has been
Put in the wrong place,
Even if it feels used,
battered and bruised.

There is no amount of treasure,
Compared to what my heart desires.
Just the way that leads me home,
To the man I loved for so long.
