A Hiding Place Poem by Connie L. Burchett

A Hiding Place

Rating: 4.0

Find me a place to hide
Somewhere deep inside

A place that’s dark and lonely
And numbness is all around

That will stop the hurt and pain
When they try to come around

It’s the place I can call home
And will cherish it the most

No need to come to visit
There is no room for you inside

So leave me be in my darken tomb
I have found my peace inside

I have tried to live on the outside
But to find it has been in vain

You might think I’m crazy
And you could be right

For this is my decision and
Right now I don’t give a damn
