A Jaded Stone Jutting Out Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

A Jaded Stone Jutting Out

Better be a diamond with a flaw
Than a pebble with a borrowed glow,
This was long years back said,
The land's now turned jaded—
A chunk jutting out as an outlaw!

Better be a diamond with a flaw than a pebble without, Confucius had said. But his country refuses to follow its own ancient wisdom. In doing so, not jacinth, it has chosen to be a jaded stone— a stone that juts out in the world to hurt as an outlaw. It still carries a grave question mark on spread of Corona in the world. To mention a few, it goes back on its commitment on Hong Kong. It refuses to accept international laws on South China Sea, browbeating small countries. It is in dispute with 23 countries on its border and around. It says one thing and acts on another on Indo-Tibetan borders (having grabbed Tibet earlier) . Spying and stealing technology, misusing information on social media… the list seems endless.

And it's not the only one country behaving like this. Nice poem!
