On a dewy evening
As I walked tired and late
Came an ailing lady
In front of my face
And as I looked
Into her shivering eyes
My worries fled
And my heart opened wide
The old coat I had on
Bought previous summer on sale
Went swiftly around her chest
She was thankful
As I gave
A little of
All that I had
And swiftly did I cross
The roads to where
My meagre home belongs
I realized
Right and then
Life which is spent
And shared well
With those in need of help
Is a life spent wisely
And truely well.
