A Lifetime Of Courtship Poem by Rae Seagull

A Lifetime Of Courtship

I want to kiss your eyes
Hold your hand
Feel your lips on mine
What does one say
When 'I love you' sounds like an understatement
But here we are
Engaging in a lifetime of courtship
With no end in sight
No promise of togetherness
In the near future
While all I want
Is to be in your arms forever
And to always stay by your side
