A Long Road To Nowhere Poem by Phil Soar

A Long Road To Nowhere

On a long road to nowhere, I spent so much time
Trying to work out these habits of mine
I would slowly develop a fixation with guilt
As I tried to evade all the hurdles I'd built

There were borders surrounding me, as life passed by
Walls where emotions escaped to the sky
No roof on the walls, so my thoughts just escaped
And my dreams flowing freely, where no curtains were draped

So the road led to nothing, and it formed a dead end
With no comforting words or embrace from a friend
And I wandered it slowly, and then turned around
On a long round to nowhere, nothing could be found
