A long long time ago
There lived a boy
Who in his youth
Witnessed life with joy
He grew up strong
Happy and handsome
Despite those who would
See him cowering
Afraid and shivering
He would smile
He would sing
He would love
His beautiful world
Despite mankind
Regardless of intolerance
Unrepentant in practice
Of engaging with nature
He died with a smile
On his face
And God was happy
I just wanted one
He whispered
And I got him
Now I can rest a while
For this earth was his.
