A Moment Of Escape.. Poem by Iris Mista

I want to sing a song of escape
a way out, of feeling free
when it goes beyond the rate
a place to go, to where I can flee

The release from suffocating agony
drifting away in the soothing sun
in illuminated ecstasy to be
not knowing what I've become

I know it is just a longing song
a moment here in my mind
because in darkness I belong
without uplifting light of any kind

But by just breathing in some extra air
dreaming this second to go
my thoughts fleeing away so fair
creates an instant, a license, to flow
