A New Life Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

A New Life

A new life

Of Lenzi, many read,
He was of Italy,
Came here, like many.

In baggage, simply,
Hope, effort, and dream.

I read and sympathies!
I am same, empathize!

Left behind his home and,
Ended in Canada…

Everything was bright,
Thanks to his heart and mind.

Suddenly, met Conrad,
In the "Heart of darkness! "

Was detained, sent to jail,
In a farm, forced labor!

Must have met some of the
Asians, as "Jap" race!

Feel ashamed and shiver,
Then dislike sea, ocean,
And the sun, when golden!

On canvas, paint Europe,
With decrees and orders:
"They are not human,
Take their lives, enslave! "

Lenzi too, like Big Bear
Ended, died, in silence!

Years have passed and today,
Sorry is "Government! "
Want to put lungs in voice:
"Go to hell, is too late! "
