The New Year’s hype has just begun
As clock’s hands tell ’tis twelve midnight;
A thunderous roar of people’s voices
Start as hearts and minds with ecstasy afill.
A New Year has been born again,
As crackers burst to noisy forms
And patterns across all night skies –
Sparkling, gleaming, glistening, raining
Fiery stars of colored hues that shine
To raise the sullen spirits of the old year
Into a dream of hopes in the New Year.
