A Pair Of Fractured Hearts Poem by David Harris

A Pair Of Fractured Hearts

Rating: 5.0

A pair of fractured hearts stand
near the corner of regret.
Each with their arms outstretched
ready to take another bet.
That the next heart they meet
will hold the intensity of love they need.
Too many long nights
with pillows stained in tears,
now they wait with beckoning arms
trying to forget their worst fears.
Each needs a loving heart
to fill their soul with warmth.
And so they wait
these pair of fractured hearts
near the corner of regret.

David, your first couplet is superb - brilliant images. The rest of the piece see saws between optimism and regret. You obviously write from long and varied experience. Great poetry. Great warmth. love, Allie xxxx

Well put and I fear you're more than on the mark here for there are lots of 'fractured hearts', the walking wounded as we say, on the loose...this I know above all else to be true.....it's so evident in the words of so many here...mm. {Hill? }
