A Pledge? Poem by Herbert Nehrlich

A Pledge?

Rating: 5.0

A Pledge?

So black and white,
to think of VOWs.
Is there a need,
for man to lock
into a tiny vault
a pledge of words,
made up through time
and silly-putty weed?
I do advise to stall,
to hesitate, unsure
unless you feel the love
so raw, so wild and pure.
And if you do, my dear,
may I suggest
you holding hands and say
what will be best.
