A Poem Poem by Ananya Guha

A Poem

What is a poem, innuendo, dark spots in timelessness
what is a poem, rash, defiant, blood
what is a poem
colours, shades and those longings
of words to be fleshed
what is a poem
myopia, sentimental cravings of a world
to be eked out on blank paper
rattle of words
nonsensical syllables
utterances inchoate
the poem takes a stand
the poem is longitudinal curve
the poem a hiatus

Take out that word
in tightrope fashion
let it balance among vast seas
dead men and women, poets, writers, authors
rabble rousers, sentiment healers

What is a poem
you, me in black and white discourse
what is a poem
garbage boy, eating out of dust

The poem makes one last murderous assault
stains living, death
swirls in oceanic hope.
