A Poem

A poem is no good
left in a book with closed pages
it needs to be circulated
shared down through the ages

Good or bad
Long or short
Poems are thoughts
meant to report

Report on the news
events of the day
Feelings put on paper
in your own special way

Pour out your heart
Share a funny rhyme
A poem can say what you mean
during a difficult time

Write of your love
or of just being blue
You'll see things in another light
One that's bright and new.
