A Poem For Marie-J Poem by Edmund V. Strolis

A Poem For Marie-J

Rating: 5.0

All the scientists, poets and philosophers fail
There is no rhyme or reason
No sonnet sweet, or Shakespeare's tale
No spells or charms to believe in

We are often absent when we learn this truth
Time and wisdom take different roads
See the hearts broken and there lies the proof
Yesterday's thorns guard the rose

A million blades on a ghost of a flower
Her scent haunts me still
The clock strikes thirteen an impossible hour
I loved her then and I always will

A message in a bottle, a prayer for a rainy day
A wish for love and a gentle touch
A beacon to guide her when the clouds roll her way
Never too little or ever too much.

A beautiful concept delineated in an enchanting way. I would like to quote my most favorite lines from the poem. Yesterday's thorns guard the rose.... The clock strikes thirteen an impossible hour... A million blades on a ghost of a flower. Full of wisdom. Great write. Full marks!
