a poem is like a mountain
a vantage point
it is like an ocean
a place for meditation
a poem is like an aged tree
wise and resolute
it is sure of itself
its meaning is in its being
it is ever new
like a rose garden in spring
a poem is like a mountain
an attempt at heaven
it is like a faithful lover
it is the awe of totality
