A Poem On Depression
It comes from nowhere
unwanted, uninvited
upsetting the balance of life
distorting the picture seen
there within those moments
during that occupation of self
all reason becomes lost
the world swells up
the spirit sinks, retreats
the invisible guest
lingers, stalks, haunts
and many, many other words
unwanted, uninvited
yet to to a chemical imbalance
undefeated, unbroken
a shadow sits prominent
amidst all of it
