A Poet's Appeal Poem by Gautam Sen

A Poet's Appeal

Simple words when put in a simpler way,
Imparting glimpses of mind's thoughtful rays;
Reading becomes then a real life pleasure-
Simplicity then treated as true treasure.

Flamboyant words placed without elegance
May sometimes create an enhanced distance
Between the reader and the dear author,
Ending in a gap of lacking their fervor.

Let me be no great, yet I surely want to make
Written my thoughts within for expression’s sake;
New ideas cropping up, inspiring me on and on
Eradicating long droughts, my flow finds a new dawn.

All esteemed readers! Enjoy my own feelings,
Don’t take me as granted. Here’s a poet yearning
for someone to visit his flowing fountain
singing songs with hopes heading mountain.
