A Quiet Voice Poem by David Harris

A Quiet Voice

Rating: 5.0

When soothing words are spoken,
we listen a great deal more.
When angry words are spoken,
we tend to want to ignore.
A quiet voice is more often heard
than one that shouts a lot.
A quiet voice is one of reason
than the one that is brash.
Quiet voices are the ones
we associate with lovers,
while the shouters are the fighters
or so they think themselves.

I do believe it's fear that provokes the loud voice - fear of not being heard, fear that someone will disagree, fear that you might be wrong. The softly spoken voice, on the other hand, is more likely to be motivated by love. You deliver wise words, David. love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
