A Rhymer At Best Poem by Francis Duggan

A Rhymer At Best

Rating: 5.0

I have been a rhymer since nineteen seventy three
And everyday the rhymes keep coming to me
My sort are not the poets of the twenty first century
And a rhymer at best is the best i can be
I am one who has written a whole heap of rhyme
Over four decades and four years of time
And perhaps i will be rhyming until the day i do die
If i did tell you different this would be a lie
I must be addictive is all i can say
For to add to my numbers of rhymes every day
I used to love reading rhymes as a schoolboy
And writing them today is something i enjoy
I penned my first rhymes in nineteen seventy three
And a rhymer at best is the best i can be.
