A Run In Time Poem by Bryan Taplits

A Run In Time

'No time, ' he thought. 'No time for this'!
His day was running full.
'I have no time for this, ' the lawyer thought.
'This guy is just a fool'!
So without a thought and nary a doubt
He replied with lawyerly scorn-
"This day is not top-notch enough
"For me to wear all your thorns! "
And though he never knew that this was true-
As his bane hastily left the room-
The assistance that the commissioner had sought
Would have patched the path-
And heal all his Money-and-
Lawyerly wounds.
