A Silent Smile

You don't love me
anymore

Fine

But you don't get to
make the rules

I haven't stopped loving you
I don't want to

Not yet.

I'm swimming
in our memories
I'm dancing to
our songs
I'm still listening
to you breathe
an echo of your life
etched upon my soul

When you left
you left things
wide open

and it will never be over

until you say the word

until you say goodbye

Even then
I will love you still

If only in
a silent smile
