A Sorry End Poem by Akujuobi Chijioke

A Sorry End

Stereotyped killings marshalled for the lost,
Belief in the myth destined to a cause.
Why apologize for the wrongs of sinister minds?
While betrayal is fed with stomachs of different kinds.

Alert to the Commander's tone
And lift the air in the wind;
Let mercy fall on deaf ears
And feed the plants with the seeds.

Aloha! To the decree of the stolen prophet,
Shaking hands with the disease of the evil prospect;
In matrimonious sacrilege her impunity is embraced in the streets
Sucking her luscious boils, the earth bows to her feet.

Its time for the remembrancer to remember the least remembered
Send her to the swift den of her unpolished matter...
