A Stories End Poem by Matthew Holloway

A Stories End

Impatient for the chapters end
The final line to be written
A story waiting to become complete
The final lines, that tie all together
The life and the loss and the dream
A stories end shall soon come
The hero of the piece or the villain
Will fall into unknown waters
To be washed from history and memory
Forgotten, life moves on
The chapter and the book it's written in
Will soon gather dust upon a shelf
Lost to time, never to be read again
The unremarkable tale, once told
In print, ink laid memories sit
End the chapter, close the page
Fold and forget the book
Take care dear reader
And good luck to you
