A Street Dog And Me Poem by Tulsi Shrestha

A Street Dog And Me

A STREET DOG AND ME
Earthquake swallowed all that belonged to me
Homeless and parentless baby that is me
In crowded world, no one was there, to love me
Realizing me alone, street dog followed me

With a wagging tail, it delighted to guide me
We did share, what we begged, really believe me
In winter cold, we snuggled to warm each other
In summer rain, we wandered for a roof shelter

When I felt sad, it used to lick me to make me glad
Hence we did share our deep pains and griefs
With floating tears, we sympathized each other
No barrier of speech, we understood each other

Alas! One day Metro police killed my lovely pet
How unlucky I'm! remained alone once again
Red eyes with tears, I prayed for its departed soul
I've to live without you with bleeding heart

Now, no any companion to share and play
Hence, I talk about my pain with my own shadow
My shadow understands me better than anyone else
Really I want to replace following words
'Be aware of dog 'by 'Be aware of human

A heart touching poem about a dog's affection and faithfulness.I wish you may find friends who are friendly, sympathetic and kind .There are so many. I wish one day you will change your view about human beings.
