A Teacher's Job Poem by Kathryn Eddy

A Teacher's Job

Rating: 4.3

A Teacher's job is to enlighten,
It is not nor should it be to heighten.

I mean to say you have to stay in moderation,
For many this may lead to their fortification.

You may already have an idea in mind,
But you have to understand when to draw the line.

A teacher should remember to teach
And yet...not to overreach.

You have brilliantly expressed truth. Amazing idea always allows mind to grow. A Teacher's job is to enlighten and teacher should remember his duty and responsibility. He should teach values, ethics and morality. This is excellently penned...10

Teachers have their limits, of course, but I don't understand what you mean in the second line, when you say it is not a teacher's job to 'heighten'.

Sorry this is late....what I mean by that is those the teacher teaches-they all have their own strengths and weaknesses. If one person is not so good in a class say math, then the teacher should take that into consideration. It's more important that all of the students understand what you're teaching than it is to reach your goal.....that's what I meant.
