A Thousand Kisses Poem by careema cooper

A Thousand Kisses

Bent truths and broken promises,
A thousand knives through the heart,
Sorry's and I love you's,
bent truths from the start.

Alone and desolate,
is where I was left to stand,
a thousand tears, a shattered heart,
lay smashed between my hands.

Forced to lay it down,
I fall beside my broken tears,
and sink into a dream,
dreaming dreams of deepest fear.

That is where a figure came to me,
A savior in my sleep,
kissed me a thousand times,
a thousand kisses deep.

Took it's time to mend me,
to fix my ruptured beat,
using love to bond my heart,
a thousand threads so sweet.

It looked inside my dying eyes,
finding my soul asleep,
it brought life into my body,
a thousand breaths so deep.

My eyes open confuse,
Is my mind bursting at the seams?
I find it here, hand in mine,
the figure from my dreams.

I find it here with eyes like mine,
A bandage on it's chest,
a thousand scars, symbolic of love,
I'm guessing weren't the best.

It's mouth says 'I know you'...
'I've been waiting for a while',
It's eyes met mine, I felt a pull,
A twist of a thousand smiles.

One single kiss upon my lips,
light exploded through the dark,
just one kiss upon my lips,
a thousand lucent sparks.

Through the light, here I see,
a boy blushing ever red,
his lips then spoke 'I love you'
and that's a thousand words said.

At a thousand beats per minute,
my heart raced, never slowing,
At a a thousand sparks per second,
A thousand kisses, and still going.
