A Visit From You Poem by Linda Barnes

A Visit From You

Rating: 5.0

You visited me last night
A younger version of yourself
Those memories lost long ago
Of a woman I use to know

It is clear in my mind
That you came just in time
To calm my building fears
Bringing clarity into light

Our first conversation
After all these years without you
Was both enlightening
As well as disheartening

I asked you why now
Why had we been estranged
Was I too busy living life
Or was it a forgotten path

There was no need to answer
You went away forever
A visit from you was a reminder
You are always with me no matter

A very emotional poem indeed dedicated to the loving memory of the poet's mother. She may not be physically present but she will keep coming secretly 'To calm my building fears' Thanks.
