A Warm Welcome

The palm trees and
white sandy beaches
are silouetted now against
a sunset masterpiece
finishing itself.

In great splashes of color,
reds, oranges, yellows,
the day surrenders
its painted horizon
to the first sparkling
light of stars;
the deep blues
and purples of night.

Music and fragrance
surfs in on the breeze,
gently tosses my hair
and caresses my face;
it is such a warm island welcome.
