A Weary Mind. Poem by Geoffrey Fafard

A Weary Mind.

Rating: 5.0

I slept in the forest last night
I needed the air it relinquishes
I dreamt of a deeper forest
From which one chooses not escape
Where there is protection by trees
From the ravages of a poisoned world
And laughter from bubbling streams
To sing you from your melancholy
I slept in the forest last night
Safe under a blanket of soft leaves
The fragrance of the night for company
Starlight way above the tree branches
Speaking to me in soothing tones of light
Quietly my deeper forest called to me
With promises of safety, kindness and trust
And all of the creatures of that forest
Came and sat around and smiled and chatted
I slept in the forest last night
I want that deeper forest now as my home
My sanctuary of pure delight
My escape from a world gone mad
Nature as my light, my mother
I need no other to confuse the order
I may sleep in the forest again tonight.

A Weary Mind.

I relate to this completely. I turned my garden into an indigenous forest.

Hello Diana...I hope you get a great deal out of your native garden and forest and I bet you listen to all that grows there, i know I do. Cheers, Geoffrey.
