A Wife Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

A Wife

A wife

She, sure is sample of
The plays of Chekhov.

Someone comes to visit,
Lifts carpets off flees
And hidden is revealed.

The Sun turns into Moon,
And the ice boils, vapours…

The couple, old and young
Forget: "This is life we live in."

Silence sound's is shiver
Streams go reverse…

Departs the outsider
And return disasters
To bury the changes!

World becomes as it was
Moon revolves in skies
And the Sun acts as must…

She was a schoolgirl
With lovely classmates,
They played together
Ignored their difference.

Future in distance
Was very far away...

City girl's brother
lived far, in Toronto.

She knew, was aware
But withheld some secrets
When became matchmaker,
Now with sons, villager,
Works hard, is resilient:
"These are God's; I obey…"
