A Word Called Love Poem by Robert Trew

A Word Called Love

That word I’m scared of is called love
It’s something I find but never search for
The Angel shoots that arrow from above
It strikes me right through my heart
And I’m all for you, one knee to the floor
Here comes the feeling, I feel it start.

I never want it but it wants me
Even though it always treats me bad,
Love, why won’t you set me free?
When all you do is make me sad.
You love me for no more than a day
And that’s when I beg for you to return
As quickly as you found me, you go away
