A World Apart Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

A World Apart

A world apart

In your eye I am one
Single head and a neck
A torso connected to two hands
And two legs, and so on…

I have all expected
Everything, nothing short
I am a perfect one!

You are wrong!
You are wrong!
You are wrong!

We all are!

My ears listen to children
None of them knows father
"He was just a donor of sperm! "

And I think
Marriage and spouse
Their numbers
The mono and poly…

Children…

"A father, even if just making,
Is father; must love and look after."
Demand faiths and Islam is toughest.

Freedom!
Freedom!
Freedom!
Equal!
Equal!
Equal!
What a mess we live in
Mess we are!

And my eyes on photos
Images; Aleppo in ruins and blood!
