Abortion Poem by Daniel B Kelleher

Abortion

I did not ask to be different
I did not even ask to be born
I do know that I'm different
I do know the difference
Between right and wrong

I do not accept to be entitled
To anything other then respect
I do not accept to be treated
To anything other then equality

A referendum held in my country
Voted yes to make abortions legal
A sad day for for the unborn
And yet celebrated as a victory

Yes I'm different
Yes I have a disability
But as of today
We have no rights
