About Rejection Poem by Raj Dronamraju

About Rejection

Rating: 4.0

You are the dream and I am the lie
And the roles are reversible
The overcelebration of the two person shield
And in doing so they've sapped the strength of love

With the help of hounds, they tracked down the gutted victims of market selection
The ones nobody wanted
And they rehashed their painful histories
And they found joy in this sadism

You are a liar and I am a dreamer
And this time around I don't complain about anything
The knowledge that this won't last
Makes us determined to milk it like the venom of a poisonous snake

No one wants to give shelter to a skid row heart
A bowl of soup and a blanket is asking way too much
The elitists of romantic circumstance wallow in their sympathy deficit
They are certain their own good fortune will last
