Absent Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Absent

Rating: 3.5

Absent

Proudly, once again
-for school, I headed
-empty was the bench
-where he sat by college!

Soon I will restart
-another course, class
-in Bethune, the York U.

Nearby same college
-I stopped, we chatted.

Looked at him and his eyes
-most of all, his moustache.

Moustache had three lines;
-one was on upper lip
-from which right-angles
-dropped two long cascades
-of the hair, not water
-to the end of his chin!

On pension, he had had
-one or two heart attacks;
-so, used bench to relax.

Devoured the time past
-where had to leave, at last.

Twisted was one eye,
-his iris, to me gate
-in which I travelled
-and ended in village.

Saw the dusk with colours
-I stopped and observed
-swallows' perfect nest
-made of mud, sphere.

Absent are he, his palm and peanuts,
-squirrels, stealing, jumping around!
