  Acceptable In Church

Are your daily actions welcomed in the Church?
Or only acceptable for life by a code of the street?
For a round ball court you wear basketball shoes,
At a baseball game your feet are donned with cleats.

Church doesn’t stop when you walk out the door,
That is exactly when your inner church begins,
Taking the things learned from inside the holy walls,
Spreading the message to your family and friends.

Does your life flow from head to toe by the Holy Spirit?
Is the walk you take far from the church or near it?
Where are thoughts in your mind causing you to be taken?
Pathways with Christ or a crooked road lead by Satan?

Not nearly enough answers for way too many questions,
However, hundreds of thoughts, ideas and suggestions,
None of which have brought you closer to a resolution,
They’ve only added more chaos in the form of confusion.

My Lord, things all around me are in such terrible shape,
Every where I turn there is no safe place to escape,
Hopes and dreams are running like wine from grapes,
I always seem to be arriving early or way too late,

Either way, there is a closed sign posted on the gate,
And it always results in one extremely big headache.
I don’t know how much more of this stuff I can take,
Everything I do seems to end up as another mistake.

That’s good because it’s exactly where you need to be,
Can’t you hear the voice saying “relax, just come to Me”,
I Am your guide, adhere to, lean on, trust in and believe,
Jesus will calm your fears through faith to set you free.

Now is the time for a one on one relationship with Him,
It doesn’t come from playing sports or sweating in a gym,
Thousands of doctors may cure you from most physical hurt,
Emptiness is only healed by blessings through the church.

Many use the excuse about negative things found inside,
A clergy member or their staff took the congregation for a ride,
Just because a few people on your job were caught playing in dirt,
Does this mean that you are no longer going to show up for work?

I know what you’re saying so & so likes to worship over there,
And at that sanctuary it’s almost like no one really ever cares,
Listen my friend, any church no matter what religion or where,
There’s always something going on to make you stop and stare.

Nowhere on this planet will the perfect church ever exist,
Why? Jesus is not a member; He’s only there in the midst,
If you ever do find one, right down to the communion cup,
Please don’t join, cause you’ll be the one to mess it up.

Maybe that is why I should worship in solitude at home,
Cannot look around & see any talking when I am alone,
Having a big backyard, maybe build a sandbox to play,
There is no room for laughing or joking on worship day.

This reminds me of the songs 'WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING', 'STAINED GLASS MASQUERADE', and 'LOVE THEM LIKE JESUS' of the band 'Casting Crowns'
